The Charity evening of Class 2011 of the Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza” took place on 12th May in Pravets. Donations for activities with children from the Social Institution for Children with Disabilities in Vidrare, the Center for Family Type Accommodation in Velingrad, “Nezabravka” Orphanage in Stara Zagora, and “Embrace Me” Atelier in Sofia, as well as for the cause of the Class 2012 were collected. A total amount of 8085 BGN was raised. During the evening, an exhibition with 12 items, made by the children from the care institutions, was organized. The items were then sold as part of the auction.
The children from the care institution in Vidrare had sent an album with drawings, a set of hand-made post cards and a hand-painted eco-bag, all of these made as part of their art-therapy activities. The children from the orphanage in Stara Zagora had provided a kukeri mask, a gourd doll with a traditional Bulgarian dress and a decorative plaster panel made during their fine-art and applied art activities. The children from the Center in Velingrad had selected photos, shaped as collages, and decorative panels made during their art-therapy sessions. The children from “Embrace Me” Atelier had sent an angel made of silk, a copy of the tale “The Snow Queen” with a hand-made illustration, as well as a hand-bound, hand-written and illustrated art-book “Resurrection of Lazar”. The items provided by the care institution in Vidrare raised 370 BGN, the ones from the care institution in Stara Zagora – 400 BGN, these from the Center in Velingrad – 205 BGN, and the ones from “Embrace Me” Atelier – 160 BGN.
The items from the care institutions in Vidrare, Stara Zagora and Velingrad that were exhibited and sold during the auction were made thanks to the financial assistance of a joint project between the Bulgarian School of Politics and the Bonita Trust. The project supports activities of School Alumni with the three care institutions for children.
