Alumni of the Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza” took part in different events with the children from “Forget-me-not” Orphanage in Stara Zagora for celebrating the Children’s Day – 1 June. On 28 May the exhibition with auction “With Our Hands – Joy for Everyone” was launched in the building of the Municipality of Stara Zagora. Items made during the children’s art-therapy sessions under the project “Young Leaders Assisting the Social Integration of Children from Institutions”, funded through the Bonita Trust and implemented by the Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza”, were shown. Fifty drawings, 25 glass paintings, 19 masks, 10 paintings on tiles, 16 painted bottles, 20 plates, 20 bowls, 10 sand paintings and 2 gourd dolls were included into the exhibition.
The Alumni, who work with the children from the Orphanage on a volunteer basis, also took part in the sports activities „Elder and younger together” that were organized on 29 May in the town park Samara Flag. Students from the foreign language high school “Romen Rolan” and from the secondary school “Zheleznik”, as well as university students from the Social Pedagogy and Social Activities Departments at the Thracian University were also involved.
On 31 May in the Puppet Theatre in Stara Zagora, the charity concert “Light for Everyone” took place. The children from “Forget-me-now” Orphanage and the composer Hajgashot Agasian participated in the concert, which was the event for celebrating 35th Anniversary of the care institution.
