For sixth year the children at the Centre for Family Type Accommodation in Velingrad have been celebrating the Children’s Dаy – 1st June with their peers from the local Junior Achievement Club. Together they draw on the topic “A Wonderful Day”, participated in sporting activities and had an open-air picnic.
Among the special guests at the celebration were Regional Governor of Pazardjik – Vanya Minkova, Chair of the Municipal Council in Velingrad Diana Kehajova, Nely Stefanova – Head of the Education, Culture and Religion Department at the Velingrad Municipality, and Angel Daskalov – Chairman of the GERB Political Party in Velingrad.
Activities with the children are supported by the Bulgarian School of Politics Alumni Irena Tahova from Class 2008, Vasil Avramov from Class 2007 and Dr. Zlatka Angelova from Class 2012, as well as the School team. The aim is to encourage social integration of children deprived from parental care and to reestablish philanthropy and long-term engagement with social causes as core values in contemporary Bulgarian society.
