A day before its third, last, training module, the Board for Advocacy and Inclusion of Refugees visited the national ombudsman and the Bureau of the European Parliament (EP) in Bulgaria. These were the first of its planned five working meetings. The goal is for the newly formed and trained Board for Advocacy and Inclusion of Refugees to be introduced and familiarized with the activities of institutions. It is expected that in the future it will work together with them to solve the problems of refugees in Bulgaria.
At the institution of the national ombudsman, the representatives of seven countries met and talked with experts. They introduced them in detail to the activities of the institution, to its successful initiatives, to the possibilities of contact and assistance.
Later that day, representatives of the Board had a working visit to the Bureau of the EP in Sofia, where they were hosted and talked to its head Teodor Stoychev.
The working visits to Bulgarian institutions as well as the formation and training of the Board for Advocacy and Inclusion of Refugees are part of the ““Partnership for Sustainable Refugee Inclusion” project. It is implemented by the Center for Sustainable Communities Development and the Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza” with the financial support provided by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the Active Citizens Fund Bulgaria within the EEA Financial Mechanism.
