University professors, heads of institutions and NGOs were the lecturers in the training for women from the regions of Blagoevgrad, Razgrad and Kardzhali

From September 27 to 29, Gabrovo hosted the training organized by the Bulgarian School of Politics for women from Blagoevgrad, Razgrad and Kardzhali regions. The city of humor brought together the most active ladies who showed willingness and ability to participate in local decision-making during the trainings held in each of the regions. The emphasis of the general training was to develop skills for communication, conflict resolution, stakeholder analysis. Meetings with heads of European institutions were part of the training as well.   

Prof. Valeria Kardashevska, lecturer of rhetoric at NATFIZ, and D.Sc Desislava Dankova from the “Media and Communication” department of NBU, shared their knowledge about the intricacies of verbal communication and social media communication. The only man among the lecturers – Prof. Yordan Eftimov – spoke about successful models in written communication. The representative of the host city – Antoaneta Yankabakova, director of the association: “YMCA” – Gabrovo – showed successful ways of managing conflicts, and the educational expert Mariyana Georgieva – how to analyze stakeholders.

With examples from Bulgaria and the world, D.Sc Irena Todorova, executive director of the Regional Center of UNESCO in Sofia, talked about the women leaders of the XXI century and the challenges in front of them.

Special guests in the training of women from Blagoevgrad, Razgrad and Kardzhali regions were Yordanka Chobanova, head of the Representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria, and Tanya Hristova, head of the Bulgarian delegation to the European Committee of the Regions and mayor of Gabrovo municipality.
