From the art gallery to the online web: student works on disinformation in an online catalog

In 25 impactful works, 22 students from the “Pedagogy of Fine Arts” major at the University of Shumen presented their interpretation of the topic of fake news and manipulation in modern society. Distorted reality, misleading images and visual traps that surround us daily in the digital environment come to life in the canvases of the young authors.
The exhibition “Draw Fake News” was arranged in the rectorate of the University of Shumen, and from December 15 to 30 it also visited the “Dobri Voynikov” community center, where it attracted the interest of residents and guests of the city during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
In order to give art lovers from outside the regional center the opportunity to get acquainted with the works, the organizers filmed the exhibition and collected it in an online catalog accessible to the general public.
The activity is part of the initiative “3D – Digitalization, Disinformation, Democracy”, implemented by the Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza” in partnership with the „Educational Horizons“ Foundation – Shumen, with the support of the European Union and the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation.
