The Project “With Respect to Others” was implemented along with the National Council for Cooperation on Ethnic and Demographic Issues at the Council of Ministers and was financed by the European Commission. Six regional information campaigns and discussions were organized and about 500 representatives of local authorities, non-governmental organizations, media and other institutions took place in them. The local campaigns and discussions increased awareness of Bulgarian citizens regarding antidiscrimination legislation and opportunities for combating discrimination based on six criteria: race and ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion and faith, and age. As a result of six regional and one national discussions, the indicators for measuring discrimination were developed and incorporated into the Action Plan of the National Council.
