Innovation – new technologies, a new way of thinking or a jumpstart for tomorrow? The lecturers at the last day of the second National program course tried to answer this question. In the panel “Long-term Strategy of Bulgaria” the program participants discussed the current innovation system and the next steps for Bulgaria in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. Special speaker was Mr. Evgeni Angelov, economic adviser to President Rosen Plevneliev and former Deputy Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism. He explained how different factors affect the competitiveness and stressed that we all need to work on them.
Mr. Evgeni Evgeniev, who is expert from the World Bank, presented data from the new report “Smart Growth Achievement: How research and innovation to work for Bulgaria”. It will be officially presented on 7th February. Mr. Todor Galev, who is expert from the Applied Research and Communications Foundation, presented the research “Innovation.bg 2011”.
Till the next course the program participants have to work on a group assignment to develop measures to increase investment in research and development.
