The Chairperson of the Board of the Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza” Sasha Bezuhanova launches the Entrepregirl Award for girls with interest and high results in the spheres of entrepreneurship and innovation. The award is financed by her personally and was inspired by the Digital Woman of Europe 2013 Award, which Sasha Bezuhanova received from the EU Vicepresident and Digital Agenda Commissioner Neelie Croes during Digital Agenda for Europe Forum – ICT 2013.
The initiative was announced during the national forum “A New Vision for education and Entrepreneurship”, organized by Junior Achievement Bulgaria within the World Week of Entrepreneurship 2013 and held from 18 to 24 November 2013.
“Entrepregirl is part of the efforts to develop the entrepreneurial culture in Bulgaria, to encourage the young people to start their own business, to stimulate girls to choose a career in the field of technology and innovations and to take leadership roles in the ICT sector. I believe this initiative will contribute to the increase of the professional participation of women in the sphere of high technologies and to overcome the lack of qualified IT specialists, which will raise the competitiveness of Bulgaria and of Europe as a whole”, said Ms. Bezuhanova.
In the beginning of 2014, after a competition for entrepreneurial ideas and projects, a girl aged 16 to 23 will receive the Entrepregirl Award. She will also receive a scholarship for the Alternative MBA program of the Business Institute, one year mentorship and membership in the Bulgarian Centre of Women in Technology.
