Mr. Julian Popov: “The Mission of the Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza” Is to Support the Creation of a Community of Civic and Political Leaders”

The first day of the work program for the class 2012/2013 started with a lecture of Mr. Julian Popov, who is Chairperson of the BSoP Managing Board. Mr. Popov told the participants more about the mission and the ethical principles of the school. He emphasized how important it is to have different views and always to seek a consensus.

The program continued with a lecture of Ms. Sasha Bezuhanova, who is a key manager in HP and member of the BSoP Managing Board. The topic of her presentation was: “Leadership styles and strategies – how to face global challenges”. She stressed that Bulgaria has to formulate a common national cause.

Another focus of the program was “Еffective Speaking, Convincing Communication and Participation in Public Debate.” Lecturers were Ms. Ivanka Mavrodieva and Ms. Donka Alexandrova, who are professors in rhetoric at the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. Than the trainees participated in a simulation of a public debate on topic “Pros and cons of the flat tax”. The moderator of the debate was the famous radio journalist Ms. Prolet Velkova.

Guest in the special section “30 minutes with…” was Mr. Solomon Pasi, who is President of the Atlantic Club, Bulgaria, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and member of the BSoP Managing Board. He commented on various aspects of the Bulgaria Foreign Affairs Policy.
