How can we help our older acquaintances and relatives become “greener” and environmentally oriented? This is what we focus on in the project “Seniors in Green Action – from Hands to Minds to Souls”.
The Guidelines on the topic are now ready and can be found here.
They have two major parts: Part 1 – “Basic principles of environmental protection, sustainability, recycling and circular economy”, and Part 2 – “Creating suitable learning environment for elder adult learners and basic principles of effective engagement of seniors in educational and community-based activities”.
With them, we want to set up a new approach to seniors’ teaching process on the topics of environmental protection, sustainability, recycling and circular economy.
Project “Seniors in Green Action – from Hands to Minds to Souls” aims to bring the ‘green’ topic to elders and to increase their awareness about recycling, circular economy and ‘green’ and environmentally friendly solutions; to create educational resources in the field suitable for elders, so to support experts and educators working with them; to encourage elders to become active ‘SENIOR GREEN AMBASSADORS’, peer-to-peer educators and role models, so to support their active aging and social inclusion. It is implemented by the Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza” in partnership with creativity and educational studio Artied”, Forum-CSRD (North Macedonia), Adam Mickiewicz University (Poland), ASSET BASILICATA (Italy), STPEuropa (Spain). The project is funded by the European Commission’s Erasmus+ Programme (Key Action 2 – KA 220 – Cooperation partnerships in adult education).
