Bulgarian School of Politics “Dimitry Panitza” is a partner in the CitizenUnited project, together with New Bulgarian University (Bulgaria), Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania), University of Turin (Italy), Social Nebula (Greece), and Bluechain Research Cooperative (Greece).
The project aims to:
• Raise awareness of the low levels of civic engagement and the barriers faced by people with disabilities in participating in democratic life.
• Build confidence and empower members of public administration and social/political science faculties to enhance their ability to teach inclusive citizenship and promote e-participation in democratic life.
• Utilise technology to create accessible e-participation environments for enhanced civic engagement.
CitizenUnited Project will enhance civic engagement by developing an inclusive digital platform, an innovative coursework for students, and training materials for faculty members to integrate e-participation into education. It will equip academia with the skills to foster democratic participation while ensuring accessibility for people with disabilities. Through policy recommendations and stakeholder collaboration, it will shape future democratic engagement strategies.
The project is funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission (Key Action 2 – KA220-HED – Cooperation Partnerships in Higher Education).
